- Puck Rock Songs -

I remember in 12th grade I tried to chat up one of the punk heads, said I listened to the Clash album. He said, "oh when I think of punk I mean like MC5 and the B*tthole Surfers".

I like punk, but never learned a whole lot about it.
And then there were those guys who wore flowerpots on their heads...Had some good songs however! - :]

> Speaking as somebody who bought the first Talking Heads album right when it came out - I can safely say that the TH aren't punk and never were. They played CBGBs with the Ramones, but their style was totally unique. Impossible to classify.

Talking Heads - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talking_Heads - New Wave would be better perhaps - :]

'New wave' is not a bad categorization of the TH. Sure, let's go with that. In the late 70s-80s that might include not only Talking Heads, but the B52s, Thomas Dolby, Gary Numan, Lene Lovich, Human League, etc. Anything rockish but original and a bit weird.
