Ugh is this behavior widespread?

The thing is that 10 minutes is too short for me. I don’t think I’d ever improve with 10 minutes. Blunderfest, no time to think. I blunder in 30|20 too, but they’re more thoughtful blunders ;)

Agree totally that the anonymity factor makes this kind of behaviour more common. It is possible to get around this by getting involved in a club or online community that encourages the building of relationships that go beyond a single playing session. I am part of a group for instance that plays classical tournaments and games on Thursday evenings. Few of us have ever met in person but the regular contact means that there is respect and courtesy in the games and other interactions.
