Question : if for instance I play e5 with white and get a grey tile, does that mean that black also won't play e5 in the line?

Technically, no (cause there's quiet simple specification of side to move generally as I have seen on other sources)
But I doubt whether OP has implemented the system well enough.
Also, on chessguessr, there's no mention of sides, so maybe yes.
But in technical terms, it's no as I said before.
Let's see what OP have as their answer.
@Akbar2thegreat there is no "right answer" to my question. It only depends on the way it has been implemented. So I was enquiring about the implementation itself. I wasn't expecting an answer from someone else than the OP. And it is not a question of being implemented "well enough". So your reply, in addition of being incredibly arrogant, is completely useless.
@polylogarithmique
Though you were asking OP but any developer/coder of chess puzzles (who knows mastermind game well enough) would answer same thing as general by assuming that everything is top class in terms of implementation.
chessguessr depends on OP but not all such types of chess puzzles.
So, logically a right answer doesn't exist but a perfect answer does exist.
And your answer is of course the perfect answer? Because assuming the OP "hasn't implemented the system well enough" is perfect?

Like engine assumes existence of perfect play and recommends moves only on that basis similarly I did here. Why do you act different?
This is much better than chessle and other chess websites like this in my opinion, because chessle is just recognising openings whereas this website, you actually have to think about what the opponent would play, and it's quite fun also.
@polylogarithmique
Inboxing for no reason doesn't make any sense. If you have any response to my public post then reply here only. It just shows sign of cowardice and having no answer to reply.
As I explained before, I stand right.
You have clearly no method to disprove me. So, stop from making baseless claims.

No, it is a sign of not diverting any further this thread, out of basic respect for the OP. Which it seems you completely and utterly lack.

Yes, that's right. There's no difference between White and Black moves here. No idea what Akbar2thegreat is talking about with "technically, no" and it not being implemented well enough otherwise. It's intended to be like this, since it would IMO make more sense to treat all moves equal in a Wordle-like game. I will add a line to address this in the tutorial.
