> There is one purpose only for puzzle ratings: Your rating is used to select a puzzle that is not too hard and not too easy. So if your puzzle rating is stabilized at around 2000, for example, this just means that for your way of solving puzzles, a puzzle in the 2000-ish range is a good challenge for you. That's it.
You dond't listen to what im writing...the higher puzzlerating the more understanding for chess generally. Do you really think it's normal that a low rated player as example 1600-1700 rated player in blitz/rapid/classical have example 2700 in puzzle rating on Lichess? No it doesn't! It doesn't matter how much time you spend on each puzzles, unless you spend seconds compared to a minute or so. Even you understand the position and are able to solve the puzzle or you don'dt.
I confront another person to this once here on Lichess, that everything was suspicious to the player. Some games he played was very bad when he was host of a simul. He played against two persons who was about 1400 fide and he lost those games badly and early. He had around 3000 in puzzles. And when i confront those things he replied me something like this - "I gain much points because im solving puzzles on very hard....even grandmasters have troubles to solve puzzles on hard and gain so much rating as 3000 in puzzles. To solve puzzles after puzzles on hard level you must have brilliant understanding for chess.
In your're logic i can also get very high puzzles rating if i spend several minutes, hours or days. Do you really think that? Do you really think that ppl are so patient when it's coming to puzzle that they spend hours and days for each puzzle? Give me a break!
The true is that puzzlerating kind of have certain comparison to the player rating. I know a 1700 fide player have 2400 in blitz on lichess. But there is also a exists that a 1700 fide player have example 1700 in blitz also. Some are very. Either you are good player and have speed or you don'dt, just like puzzles, either you have good understanding for chess or you don'dt. But still there is more normal that players who have eample 2100 in blitz and rapid have around 2500 in puzzles than a 1700 rated player in blitz and rapid have 2500 in puzzles. Most titled players have about 2200-3000+ in puzzles rating...it is so hard to solve in general. Even grandmasters have below 2500..no matter what how much time they spend or solved on easy or hard level.
When im seeing ppl have etablished example 1800 in puzzles they have lower understanding for chess and positions generally but they have been kind of" lucky"....i fear more for a player when im seeing a player with example 2500 in puzzles than a player with example 1800 in puzzles and both players have about the same ratings in blitz, rapid and classical. Because this is all about theory-knowledge and intuiton in general not other things when it comes to puzzles. But somoe players cheats when it comes to puzzles. I dond't accuse this player to cheat but i find it strange. For his ratings maby about 2000 is normal. And he have 500 over that. But this is anyway my opinions.
I have about 2800 in puzzles on
chess.com and to reach so much as 2500 in puzzles on lichess is incredible difficult no matter what the circumstances.
