What was the first game to ever be recorded in the history of chess? How good were the players?

You ARE the one who is acting stupid. The first version of chess is chaturanga.

It was a joke.

SO
Why did this degenerate into an argument about the first VERSION of chess?
The question i think is pretty clearly addressing the first recorded game of modern chess, the game we all know and love(?)

I think the oldest recorded game where we know who played was between

Francesc de Castellvi and Narcis Vinyoles.

There is another thread on this topic (and probably hundreds more if you care to search) which discusses it and does not get distracted by the Chaturunga discussion.

EXACTLY. That's somewhere we all got a bit distracted, I guess, because the forum thread instead of answering the questions also went on the argument of what is "British chess".
