Hello, I am Joseph Saelee (JdMfX_) the 2 time world champion at NES Tetris. How to play chess?

How can a person be a chess world champion when he doesn’t know how to play chess?
Tetris world champion Jonas Neubauer plays real-time chess (aka storm chess).

There is no such variant of chess on this site.
If you are interested in classical chess, then the best strategy is to study with a professional coach.
you already know how the pieces move, that's good! there is the common point of logic between chess and Tetris, and also that of building your position well. learn several solid openings, do storm and puzzle race puzzles to train your reflexs and play classic/rapid/blitz first before bullet otherwise you can quickly forget the basics of chess. no need to find a coach if your level is "basic" (you know how to move the pieces and there are enough free resources here). a coach is expensive and takes time, rather find passionate players with whom you can discuss constructively! read blogs, play a lot and try tournaments, it's the best possible practice and above all don't be afraid of anything, dare and good luck here!
bro what are you doing here,, chess is like a black hole,, once you fall you will never get out!

RIP Jonas
For starters do a lot of tactics. There are some chess players in the tetris community afaik, you may seek advice from them. Have you played TGM series by the way (I prefer it personnally) ?

Thanks!

*sigh* Now I'll have to add Chess' History books to buying list now that I know they're useful. ;-)

> Err if your FIDE rating is 2002, you really don't need any instructions on the basics... that puts you right up there
> So either your FIDE is not 2002 or you definitely aren't who you say you are. Or both.
> Choose :)
You are mistaken, FIDE means 'For the Imminent Date of Existence' or in other words Date of Birth!
